Our Staff
Scott Habeeb - Executive Director
Scott is in his third decade as a public educator. He and his wife, Julie, have three daughters, one son, and two grandchildren. God has used their 30+ year involvement with Young Life to create in them a passion to build relationships and community. Having an adult child on the autism spectrum, working with young people with disabilities in the public schools, and serving as Young Life Capernaum volunteer leaders for over a decade have combined to compel them to desire to build relationships and community for friends of all ages and ALL abilities.
Kelly Joan “KJ” Dinsbeer - Director of Ministry
KJ is a New Jersey native. Growing up, KJ’s mom worked closely with the adult special needs population, and there KJ found a sweet community. At Penn State University she experienced great spiritual growth, primarily as a result of her involvement in Cru. After graduation, KJ spent a year as a member of the Blue Ridge Fellows program in Roanoke developing the skills and practices to live out her faith in all areas of her life.
Originally hired in 2022 as a part-time staff associate, KJ was promoted in 2023 to the position of Director of Ministry. She now serves the community of adults with disabilities in the Roanoke Valley by helping to create opportunities to foster rich, life-giving, inclusive friendships and community.
Sydney Dougherty - Ministry Staff Associate
Sydney is from Northern Virginia and is a graduate of George Mason University, where she was an active participant in Cru events. After college, Sydney joined the Blue Ridge Fellows post-graduate program in Roanoke, to better live out her faith and also joined the Masterpiece Alliance volunteer leadership team.
Sydney has always had a heart for those with disabilities which made Masterpiece Alliance a great fit for her. She enjoys serving as a Masterpiece Alliance Ministry Staff Associate, where she helps build and support the Masterpiece Alliance community.
Silas Henderson - Ministry Staff Associate
Originally from Pennsylvania, Silas comes from a family that worked with Cru. Silas came to know God in middle school and met life changing youth pastors in high school. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2023 and quickly started volunteering with Masterpiece Alliance.
Silas is also mildly on the autism spectrum, so he knows how it feels to live with a disability but still be special. He loves to make friends, have conversations, share laughs, and worship God. He is a die hard fan of Virginia Tech, the Boston Celtics, the Boston Bruins, but especially, the Boston Red Sox.
McKenna Habeeb - Ministry Staff Associate
Born and raised in Salem, McKenna spent 4 years in Blacksburg, attending Virginia Tech and gaining ministry experience leading Young Life. Through Young Life she found a God-given passion for building deep and meaningful relationships with high school girls, as well as joy and purpose in sharing the gospel.
After moving back to Salem, McKenna joined the MA community as a volunteer leader. Being part of the MA community further affirmed her passion for building meaningful relationships, this time within the disability world. This passion led her to join the MA Staff Team, where she can build relationships with our awesome community members.
Jordan Duffy - Ministry Staff Associate
Jordan is a Salemite and a graduate of Christopher Newport and Radford Nursing School. Through her years in school and throughout her nursing career as an oncology nurse, she learned the necessity of trusting and leaning on God.
Jordan has always had a passion for helping and loving others. She is excited to grow outside of her nursing career and work for a Christian-based organization centered around forming friendships and building meaningful community!
Paul Duffy - Area Director
Paul grew up in Salem. He graduated from Salem High and then went on to play college soccer at Randolph-Macon College, where he obtained a degree in accounting. After a few years of trying different jobs, he felt God calling for him to serve people in a different way. This led to him enrolling in Liberty University’s online Master's program in Applied Psychology. These classes caused him to become more aware of the need for laborers caring for marginalized people groups.
Paul younger brother is on the autism spectrum. Growing up, he knew his brother had been diagnosed with a disability, but to Paul his was just his brother - but some people looked at his brother as though he was different, which revealed to Paul how socially isolating disability can be. Masterpiece Alliance's mission to build community for people of all abilities led him to desire to be part of this amazing organization,.
Leslie James - Accountant
Leslie James is a lifelong Salemite. She graduated from Virginia Tech and has over a decade of experience in the financial services industry. Thankfully for MA, Leslie enjoys the accuracy and transparency in number crunching that comes with being an accountant.
Leslie’s passion for joining our community comes from her and and her family’s love for her brother who is on the Autism spectrum and her God-given heart for encouragement, foster care and adoption, and friends of ALL abilities.
